Bergs Hotel is located in a classic area between Old Market and the cathedral of Mariestad.

No showy, twinkling neon-light, but a rough out-cutted sign witch hangs above the front-door towards Kyrkogatan, with the shining text BERG' s HOTEL in silver-coloured capitais. Guests have arrived and left during a very long time.

They have been staying over for the night in some of the five rooms.

From the old window-mirror outside the landlady' s sittingroom could the old madam Berg, who gave her name to the hotel during the 1950' s, could see who was knocking at the front-door. Even today it happens that the landlady, Elisabeth Åkerlind, now and then keeps an eye at the mirror to
watch what is going on in the street or along the grounded limestone- pavement.

There is a homy atmosphere at Bergs Hotel. Elisabeth Åkerlind has tried to keep the hotel cosy and intimate.  She is taking care of her guests with a landlady´s natural hospitality.

The rooms are cosy  but not luxury. The bathroom contains solarium. For the breakfast you will always have newbaked bread served directly from the own oven.

Bergs Hotel is rather quiet. Here many famous people, like Malawi´s house-management and  Mississipi Rhythm Boys have been staying as guests.

Many guests who are not so famous have also left small tickets
with thanks for the visit and with a wish to return for another peaceful and pleasant night.
